Years of careful planning led to the 1998 construction of this ideal romantic getaway in a setting that is peaceful and quiet, yet near all the area has to offer. This luxury bed & breakfast inn emphasizes comfortable elegance, quiet relaxation, and genuine hospitality for couples who treasure their time together. Guests are treated to an evening hors d’oeuvre along with 24-hour soft drinks from the guest pantry (bring your own alcohol if you wish). Glassware, ice, corkscrews, etc. are provided. With only nine guest rooms, several common areas, and almost 10 acres of grounds to explore, you can be assured of privacy and a restful atmosphere. Linger in our soothing perennial gardens with the sound of a rushing waterfall. Snooze in a hammock in the shade. Stargaze while soaking in our outdoor hot tub. Winter visitors love to borrow our snowshoes and go right out the front door. We have a great hill for tobogganing, too! Be sure to pack your slippers for just loafing around. Perhaps you would enjoy a game of checkers or billiards in the Game Room? Or curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book in the Sitting Room or the Solarium. Borrow a movie from our movie library; we even provide the popcorn. Book an in-room massage for the ultimate in relaxation! Recommended by the Boston Globe, New York Times, and USA Today. Chosen one of the Top 12 Inns in North America, Forbes.com. Select Registry Innkeeper of the Year.
Unwind in your bubbling, fireside two-person Jacuzzi--every room has one! Each of the nine uniquely decorated, non-smoking rooms also features a king-size bed, sitting area, flat-screen TV with DVD/VCR, wifi, iPod plug-in, individually controlled heat and seasonal air conditioning, numerous thoughtful touches, and fine amenities like hypo-allergenic down duvets and pillows, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels, and luxurious bath robes. You may select your favorite room by clicking through to our own website, where all nine rooms are shown.
In the morning, savor a full candlelight breakfast in the window-walled breakfast room with tables set for two. In the warmer months, you’ll be entertained by the hummingbirds, goldfinches, and chipmunks. On chilly mornings, we’ll have a fire going in the fireplace. Homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, and three entree choices are offered daily. Some examples: an omelet with bacon, baby spinach, and gruyere cheese; a three-mushroom frittata made with locally foraged mushrooms and Vermont cheddar; classic Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce; cinnamon pancakes; or peaches and cream stuffed French toast. Of course, we use real Vermont maple syrup and other local products.
After enjoying an evening hors d’oeuvre at the Inn, treat yourself a fine meal at any one of Stowe’s 40+ restaurants that are within a 10-minute drive. There is a dazzling array of choices--anything from haute cuisine to hamburgers--and not a single chain restaurant to be found. We have a list of favorites that we gladly share with our guests, and we would be happy to assist you in making reservations.
With Vermont’s highest peak, Mt. Mansfield, Stowe has long been known as the “Ski Capital of the East,” but this scenic mountain village offers so much to do year-round. Other winter-wonderland activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, horsedrawn sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, ice skating, and just playing in the snow! Stowe also offers unique shopping and antiquing, endless hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, golf, glider rides, the famous Stowe recreation path, scenic gondola skyrides to the top of Mt. Mansfield, wineries, Vermont specialty food stores, touring the Ben & Jerry’s factory (Yes, you get a sample!), visiting glassblowers and other craftspeople, the Vermont Ski Museum, excellent fine art galleries, and a summer calendar packed with activities like festivals, concerts, theatre productions, and craft shows. Lake Champlain, the Shelburne Museum, and downtown Burlington are just 45 minutes away, making for a nice day-trip. Best of all, everywhere you go, the scenery is spectacular--the charming village of Stowe and its surrounding towns, farmland with open fields, and majestic mountains!
In-room and outdoor (seasonal) massage is available by advance reservation, including tandem side-by-side massage. Pack your swim suit if you plan to enjoy the outdoor hot tub. And don’t miss the evening hors d’oeuvre, which is set out for you in the Guest Pantry each evening from 5:00 to 6:30.
