For your Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast vacation, come to Ashley Manor and discover a very special place, one where youíll want to stay a while and return to again and again. Located in the heart of Cape Codís historic district, this circa 1699 colonial inn reflects the elegance and romance of an all-but-forgotten way of life. Beautifully restored, Ashley Manor quietly blends the amenities of your comfort expectations with the grace and dignity of an earlier time.
Originally built in 1699, Ashley Manor has seen many additions over the centuries. Evidence of its age and history can be seen in the wide board flooring, wood usually reserved for the king during colonial times; huge open-hearth fireplaces, one with a bee-hive oven; hand-glazed wainscoting throughout the inn; and a secret passage connecting the upstairs and downstairs ---thought to be a hiding place for Tories during the Revolutionary War.
While originally part of a larger farm tract, today two acres remain to surround Ashley Manor with graceful hedges, stately old trees and natural woods. A charming gazebo completes the aura of a former time, while a carefully sited tennis court blends gently into the surroundings. Common rooms are large and sunny in summer, cozy and warm in winter...and beautifully furnished with antiques, oriental rugs and graceful country furniture. Here, guests are invited to relax quietly by the fire, read a book from the Manorís library, or share conversation with the other guests or the innkeepers.
